ウェンブリースタジアムのアーチ

2006年に完成予定のウェンブリースタジアム。
フットボール、ラグビーとコンサートの会場として現在急ピッチで工事が進んでいます。
9万人を収容というスタジアムとしては超大型のスタジアムですが、完成まで気が離せないのでカテゴリーを作りました。後2年かかるのか〜(笑)
完成後の、
最初のイベント、
最初にスポーツ試合、
最初のコンサート等どのようなものになるのか、楽しみです。
これは、屋根の大部分の重量を支える巨大なアーチの設置状況を伝えるBBCの記事です。
この巨大アーチ、人気のロンドンアイがすっぽり入る高さで、ロンドンの風景を変えるようになるそうです。
The first stage of inching the huge arch that will be the centrepiece of the new Wembley Stadium into place began on Friday.
アーチの説明記事：
It will stand 133 metres above the pitch and will support all the weight of the north roof and 60% of the weight of the retractable roof on the southern side.Posted by Hiro : May 31, 2004 12:14 AM
The arch, which has been built around the pitch, will stand at a slight angle when fully erected so as not to cast a shadow over the playing surface.

完成にあと２年ですかー。かかりますねぇ。しかし、これの完成にあと２年。アテネオリンピックはあと２ヶ月。はてさて。(笑)

そう、結構かかるものなんですよ。
まあ、大きいと言うこともあるけど、事実上の完成はそれよりも早く、結構ダメ直しなんかやるんだと思います。
アーチが設置されたらロンドンの風景が変わると言うから、ロンドンアイ等からはっきり見えるのでしょうね。
