Pictures of Baghdad A Family in BaghdadのFaifa Jarrarさん（スンニ派でJarrarファミリーのお母さん）が作った新しいBlogですが、Photo Blogに近いです。どっと写真が最初に出てきますが、今までに見た事のないような、イラクの遺跡、財宝から、家族の昔の写真、現在のBaghdadの様子だけでなく、女性らしく花の写真もたくさん投稿されています。
ちょっとしたイラクのヴァーチャル観光気分が味わえます。数枚の戦車の写真を除けば、戦争がおこっているなどと思わせないくらいです。
コメントは、Bloggersに登録したメンバーのみ可能。
人気があるからでしょうか、残念ながら、Asmar Ahmadと言う名前の人に写真をそっくりコピーされています。この名前を見つけたら無視した方が良いでしょう。 Creative Commonsの事を提案してみようと思います。

Yesterday, my brother saw the American soldiers passed through a man whose car was trapped in a hole and the man was looking left and right and bewildered, the American soldiers stopped there and got down their vehicles and started to lift the car helping the poor Iraqi who was alone, my brother stopped beside them immediately, took the camera and said: ‘ can I take a photo’ they said: ‘ OK’ then my brother clicked the camera’s button..click..click click.. What’s up? Nothing happened ! He opened the camera....... NO BATTERIES!! ..GOD.. He said ‘ I looked like an idiot’! ‘I forgot the batteries at home..’..!!
However.. Imagine that..

イラクでのインターネットの歴史：
１９９９年以前、イラクに一つもインターネットコネクションがなかったらしい。SCIS (State Company for Internet Services)と言うところが唯一のインターネットプロバイダーで、２００２年の後半までに、２５００万人の人口に対して、インターネットユーザーはわずか１５０００人だったらしい。
湾岸戦争以降の経済制裁でコンピュータの部品や光ファイバー関係の部品は輸入が禁止され、フセイン政権自体も一時は、インターネットは、アメリカのグローバリゼーションの一つだと説明していたらしいです。
１９９９年以降は、かなりゆっくりであるが、フセイン政権の政府関係施設や、バグダッド大学等に広まっていったらしい。
２０００年の初めに最初のインターネットセンターが、Baghdad駅近くにオープンの後、２００３年までには、イラク全体で４２箇所のインターネットセンターがあったそうですがコンピューターの数はたった５４６台だったそうです。あと、モデムを購入するには政府の許可が必要だったらしいです。
２００２年には、一般家庭にインターネットの設置の許可が出たらしいのですが、盗聴や、フィルターをかけられていたと言う事です。これは、イラク戦争が終わった（いつ？）数日後まで続いたとの事。
イラクのブログは、政治か戦争のエントリーばっかりでやっぱ疲れるよね〜。

Fayrouzさんは、イラクのブログを見て周った後、ここを訪れているそうです。癒しの効果あり？
## I went to a neighborhood north of Baghdad, I was looking left and right before I decided to enter that sector, it was a dark street, God, I had to enter that narrow dark street, it took me a minute of silence and thinking ‘should I get in?’, ‘what if those idiots bombed the place?’, then I said ‘whatever happens..I don’t care’.. So I entered, I walked about 20 meters and turned left and stood in front of the metallic door, this door has a small opening in the corner, I called carefully ‘hey..anybody here?’, the fat man came by ‘yes, what do you need?’ I replied ‘ nine’ he said ‘ nine of what?’ I replied ‘beer’ !!
So, all the above dangerous steps are for beer !!! I hated myself for that, the neighborhood I used to buy from has been bombed by the crazy Islamists and the poor owners are no longer opened, God damn it, when will we get rid of those too?
The worst thing was when I got the beer and went back home, we drank and drank, then my friend lifted the can and read the expire date.. It was March 22 !!!
